How can you be so sure of your gender? Don’t you realize what a big decision you’re making? By not transitioning, you’ll live your entire life in the gender you were assigned when you were born. How can you be so sure the doctor was right? This is an irreversible decision, you know: you only get one life.

Only one, but they’ll make the lightbulb get a note from two doctors before they change it
It’s not like I can’t speak about cis issues.
I mean, my best friend is cis, so like…I know all about cis people’s bodies and I get to reclaim “grue” and sell stories about cisgenderism all I want!
I hope the next person I meet up with tells me if they’re cis
because it’s kind of important to know these things
or else I might end up with an incident which I will never be able to speak of again.

What is a cissexual?
Cissexual people are just like you and me, except their assigned birth sex is the extent of their gender identity.
They will often choose not to go through hormone therapy options and instead, they will force their gonads to produce their hormones. Many cis people will know they are cis from a very young age. They often have a strong identity as their gender, which is why they choose to live as cissexuals.
Cis people deal with feeling excluded and isolated in the real world. Sometimes, they stay closeted for a long time before coming out as cis.

You don’t look like a cis person.
Cis people might not look like what you expect. Cis people can be anywhere.
Does this mean you’re gay/straight?
Even though most cis people are straight, some might be gay or even bisexual.
Who are you going to date?
Even though cis people might have a harder time finding someone who will date them, they are still able to have healthy relationships. Often cis people will date other cis people.
Aren’t you too young to be cis?
It’s never too early or too late to be cis. Many cis people know they are cis when they are children, but others might not know until they are 20—40.
How do you have sex?
Cis people can be very inventive with their bodies.
How can you be sure you don’t want hormone blockers?
Cis people will often choose not to use hormone blockers and instead rely on their gonads to put them through ‘biological puberty’. This is what makes cis people happy.
How do you know you’re cis?
Many cis people feel they “know” their gender internally. They feel they were “born this way”, even if most people don’t understand.
So is your partner straight or…?
Cis people are just like the rest of us. Cis people will often date people who’s [sic] sexuality is an attraction to the gender they identify as.
You may have lots of questions about cissexuals, it’s natural to be curious. But remember to also be respectful.

Telling people you are cis is a big step. You may want to write a letter or send an email. It’s often very hard for people to accept their friend or family member’s new identity. Give them time to [get used to] you being a cisgender.

Cis people may experience the need to “pass” as cisgender.
The ones who wish to “pass” as “men” will wear suits, ties, they often even facial hair and cut their hair short.
The ones who wish to “pass” as “women” will wear dresses, skirts, not even putting on facial hair, and choosing instead to wear makeup and grow out their hair.
